Dr. Khan zaib Jadoon

Biography

Dr. Jadoon received his PhD in the field of ground penetrating radar application to agricultural and environmental issues, at the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium.  He was involved in  TERENO and  CROP.SENSe.net projects funded by the  Agrosphere, Institute of Bio- and Geosciences at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany from 2007 to 2011, as a research assistant and postdoctoral researcher. In early 2012, he joined KAUST as a post-doctoral researcher and presently working with ESOM Group as a research scientist. .

Research Interests:

Dr. Jadoon research focuses mainly on the coupled inversion of geophysical and hydrological data for the environmental and hydrological related applications. His current research concentrates on hydrogeophysics, electromagnetic modeling for ground-penetrating radar and electromagnetic induction, and integrated hydrogeophysical inversion of time-lapse geophysical data for the characterization of the vadose zone. He is active in the development of the joint inversion of multi-component electromagnetic measurements to estimate the infiltration patterns in a trickle-irrigation system, which is important to optimize drip irrigation system design for sustainable agricultural water management. Furthermore, he is involved in a project to monitor long term effects of climate change on terrestrial hydrology (water balance, evapotranspiration and water retention capacity) using precise weighing lysimeters.
